Jon Cooper’s EDM music is finally being released through Been Fingered Recordings “Rain” Ft Lorraine Gray #JCRain
It was exactly a year ago when i set out to produce an edm trance progressive house album, and now find myself Releasing a track entitled Jon Cooper – Rain Ft Lorraine Gray thanks to Been Fingered Recordings with thanks to the electro worlds ears on the street @smilydutchgirl. After working for a year on this dance music project in my spare time i found myself jobless at the start of 2015. I went all out to work on my own brand of Electronic Dance Music and it wasn’t long before Been Fingered acknowledged my edm labour of love. It was finally nice to have faith and the confidence in my work and let one of my songs go. It will..by the grace of God, be in all good digital retailers in May. iTunes Traxsource Beatport etc. If you like a song getting stuck in your head this should be a much loved track…..teaser to come!
You will also see change occurring on my blog to Accommodate my new Family at Been Fingered Records. I will still be keeping my Blog Roll active in fact i may well become more active but the site will be changing look and feel to accommodate a big BFR handprint with new releases, news , places where you can listen to free edm music , dj sets and i am so excited and feel blessed to have been give the chance to do something i love..make music…hopefully successfully. Also i hope to bring the Record Label my own brand of music and have been working with some great talent on tracks so theres more to come from Jon Cooper Music.
Its been 9 months since i posted on my blog, to busy with life, to busy with work and of course my babe E. But a change in career to a full time record writer producer and music publisher is at first glance a fun and exciting one….but since i have found myself unemployed i have never been so busy. Devoting all of my time to EDM and and the projects i am working on is one thing but the social media facebook twitter is an insane task. Oh to have someone to take care of all that would just be nice.
A little about my New EDM Track Jon Cooper – Rain Ft Lorraine Gray
Dance, Electronic, Trance and Progressive house and the whole Rave scene in general has had me engaged with it since the 80’s. From humble beginnings in Ian Hall’s dad’s basement studio making dance tracks on a 4 track tascam reel to reel and a Roland Juno to now. I can find myself engrossed in the beauty of making a track, and as #JCRain nears the end of completion, i am proud to say its a beautiful and passionate track with a beautiful and passionate vocal to match. And it is with that sentiment and passion that the track was written.
This Project with Lorraine started back in June of 2014 when i received 2 emails from her…the persistence or error was a blessing as i went and listened to some of her vocals and thought YES! We got in touch and me being private with my work let her have listen to something and she was up for working on a track, time for a phone call…
I had the lyrics written out to the song and had some ideas for a track but wanted to be a little unconventional when writing this song. I wanted to know the Singer before i went away and wrote the music, it made sense if i had a feel for her as a person i could write a song she would sing with love.I did explain that compared to anything she has sung before, this was the hardest thing you will sing for some time. I think she will agree on that.In retrospect, never a truer word spoke. After nearly 2 hrs on the phone i went away and thought about it for a few days….asked God about it….played around on the piano…procrastinated….then BOOM layed out a backing track in an hour or 2 that i thought was really bad but was told it was pretty good 🙂 Thanks Lee Mitchell @stateground – A great EDM Sound Engineer.
So I, in my usual flight of ideas called and threw them at Lorraine as she is going to the studio in Essex. So off she went to the studio for the first crack at the track. Now i will be honest, It was wrong…but as it turned out a line she sang in the middle of the song ended up becoming a few of the most engaging lines to start a off track with ever in my opinion *citation needed . So having got all the vocals layered all over the track i begin to lay out what is now the Radio Mix of the song, at least at a tempo where Lorraine could sing how i needed her to. Once that was layed out i went on to produce the 138 mix, which when you listen to them both together, they are 2 different songs and not 1 chopped down long song or radio edit. My heart was always in the underground trance edm version of this and when face with deadlines it shows that my loyalties on this track were on the club rather than the radio. However i got a few weeks and one is soooooo close and the other is not far off so phew. Then theres just the matter of 138 vocal mix, tailored more for the trance DJs amongst us.
So After a lot of chopping and changing and procrastination…….A 3 Month apathy for all things musical, all of a sudden im feeling a little pressure. They are both very complicated tracks and taking them from rough to polish with my standards is a tall order especially when you have a deadline with a record label and distributor. Lorraine has been back twice more to sing and still may need to do again, but i think in the end we will all have worked to produce one hell of an amazing song and hopefully a popular Chart Song. Thats what i try to write….but always with the club on my mind.
From now until my deadline for release on May 1st. *cough* provisionally. It will be the only thing i work on. You only get one chance to release your 1st Record, so when you do make sure its your finest work. Yeah im probably not gonna be happy when its released…i’m a perfectionist, but the master i just listened to of the 138 is so close – the hundreds of hours show – and i can nearly say….im happy with that, that is some of my finest work.
And after just a short time on the phone with Lorraine, sounds cliche but it really Felt like i’d known you forever…i knew this project was gonna be a special one it really has turned out that way. Bless you! @lglorraine
I guess in truth, i’ve made many discoveries along the way to now about the music industry and its just gone and got me involved with it. Anyone who Knows me knows i like to cause a rucuss whatever i do I will always stand up for fairness and integrity…..if Rain is a success who knows.I hope it is the most overplayed track of the year! Maybe its time I caused a rucuss in this job to…I have great ideas, determination and some great friends…its not just about this track, this album or my edm music blog anymore. Its about the future …… love is the answer, lets share!
